The Complete Beginner Guide to Ladakh City

Day 8 : 8th June 2017 : Yess!! We are in Ladakh

‘Julley’ from Ladakh. Most used word by Ladakhi people. Julley represents a simple Hello in their language.

We had delicious breakfast at the Hotel. We started for Phyang LSRC (Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre) by booking a private taxi.

Hire charges were very high. He took around 180 INR of just 3 kms from Hotel Asia. Ladakh is one of the expensive city I have ever seen. But we were lucky that we got room in the Army quarters cause Pratik’s dad was in command as Colonel in Ladakh.

We reached in LSRC. Pratik did all the formalities to enter over there. Soldiers shifted us in the quarters and the room was awesome. Had delicious home-made food in the room and slept for 3 hours.

In high altitude regions there is lack of oxygen as well as there were very few trees to create oxygen. So a normal person needs to take 2-3 days rest. We had Momos (Famous Ladakhi Food)  in Army Canteen

After having snacks we did some necessary shopping in Army Canteen like Cap, Hand gloves, food items like Cadbury, Chocolates for Khardung-La Pass Travel.

We had a long walk till LSRC Gate. Clicked some amazing photos. Here they are..

And this is what we found in LSRC.

The Highest Training Centre in the world for Soldiers.

Day 9 : 9th June 2015 :  Leh City on Bullet Ride – Visit to Leh Palace

Everyone matched with weather of Ladakh and started a day with heavy breakfast in the room.

We went to Leh city for enquiring about tourist places and especially for hiring Bullet (Royal Enfield) for travelling across city.

Ladakhi people are very helpful. As we all observed that there is Humanity present in them. Cause the travel agent we met Miss. Ishey was very good human being & businesswoman too. I was amazed to see her communication skills & confidence in the way she talks with tourists. I recommend everyone to avail services from :

Swiss Tours & Travels in Ladakh.

In the afternoon we had food in Punjabi Rasoi (Pure Vegeterian Restaurant). Food was quite good and hot-coffee too. And then we hired two bullets in Leh City from Ishey Aunty 🙂

Here we started for Leh-Palace. I was quite amazed to see this type of structure which was simple yet powerful.

As we entered; the height of first slab was ideal for an average person. Take care if you are more than 6 feet.

There was a small temple inside the palace. Goddess & Buddhist Monk’s photos (Dharmaguru) were there.

One can learn stability from Monks. Peace at its best 🙂

We went upstairs and view was mind-boggling. Weather was too cool.

Picture ~ What a View from Leh Palace ! I am short of words !!

Seriously, the view was making me quite happy. The mountains covered by ice with combination of some bared mountains.

Ladakhi Temple & Homes really made me worth taking this picture.

Meanwhile we met a guy from France taking pictures of Leh-Palace.

He was also a Travel Blogger. We asked him about Ladakh he was going to travel Ladakh on Bicycle only.

We witnessed the beauty of Nature & many tourists told us that this is only the beginning.

We returned to LSRC Room on Bike. That bike ride was insanely great. Had dinner & slept teasing Pratik.

Next day we planned to go Khardung-La Top : Worlds Highest Motorable Road

Spread the love
